May 2022 Meeting Notes
May 3, 2022 Minutes
The meeting was called to order by President Ritchie Farrell. Secretary Marleen Parker read the minutes, which were approved as read. Treasurer Brenda Lagasse reported the checking and savings, and her report was approved as read.
Old Business:
Jason Wheeler has ordered the lights for the north side of the arena. Cost is $12,000. The money will come from our savings.
We were not able to purchase the refrigerator at the auction. Brenda will talk to Conn’s about a used one. The side by side refrigerator needs to be replaced.
The sign north of town needs to be put up, new plywood is needed.
New Business:
Aggie reported that the Fair Board is thinking about locking the stalls in the livestock barn, as they have problems with the stalls not being cleaned after use, and with dirty shavings being left in the alleyway. The consensus was that we have no problems with that.
Committee reports:
Charlie will have a trail ride May 8th at 1:30pm at his place.
The Activities committee reported that the School’s Out PlayDay will be May 21 at 1:30pm. Riders do not have to be members to ride. Games for all skill levels will be offered.
July 3 will be our next meeting, with an ice cream social and the City fireworks afterwards.
Ashley is working on possibly having barrel races on Friday nights.
Charlie will host a trail ride at his place on Saturday, June 11, starting at 1:30 pm, with Potluck afterwards.
Arena Maintenance- Ritchie has sprayed under the bleachers. It’s time to start mowing and having work nights. Next Work night will be May 9th at 6:30 pm. Bring sprayers, shovels, rakes, mowers. The loudspeaker wire on the south side came loose in the wind and will need to be fixed.
Erin has 2-3 girls lined up to run for Rodeo Queen.
