May 2015 Meeting Notes
The meeting was called to order by President Aggie Moore. The minutes were read and approved. The treasurer reported on deposits and expenses. Flowers were purchased for the funerals of Susan Sterling’s husband and Scott Hays’ mother. Treasurer report approved.
Activities Committee reported on cancellations of reining and barrel clinics. The barrel racing clinic will be rescheduled in the fall.
Aggie reported that Rick Croisant was paralyzed in an accident and proposed that the Saddle Club help the family with expenses. It was moved and seconded to give the family $250. Motion passed.
Unfinished business:
Lance Lagasse reported that Tom Genette said the bleachers may be returned but nothing is definite as of yet.
Brenda Lagasse needs $200 for the Kansas High School Rodeo Association for the bid on the High School Rodeo. A motion was made to pay for the bid. Seconded and passed.
The Club needs new flags for the grand entry, an American flag and a Saddle Club flag. Also the drill team needs flags. It was moved the provide funds for the purchase of the needed flags. Motion seconded and passed.
Arena maintenance: Mowing needs to be done frequently before the rodeo. Pens need weeds cleared. Lance will bring calves to clear the pens. It was suggested that Erin Urban post a list of projects that need to be done so volunteers can work on them as time allows. Tuesday, May 12th and Tuesday, May 26th have been designated as mowing nights. Members are to bring mowers and weed trimmers.
