March 2009 Meeting Notes

The monthly meeting was held on March 3rd at 8:00pm the meeting room at Scott’s office. The February minutes were read and approved. The Treasurer’s report showed the balance of checking and savings.

LeAnn Fogle has volunteered to be on the queen committee and will take care of the ticket sales.   We have three 16 year old candidates wanting to run, Brooke Weber, Brittany Moore & Centonous Buckwald  from Minneapolis KS.

The senior project is under way. Boards have been purchased and have to sit out to dry before priming and painting. Charlie & Scott are interested in looking at the bolts and washers and finding a way to keep them from rotting around the bolts. Charlie is to be called when Justin is ready to put the boards on.

In regards to the timers Scott was checking into: the ones in Washington are not wireless and would not be what we would need. Lance thought the timers Larry Moorehead wants to sell were wireless and around $800.00 to $900.00.

Katie Revell told us that the college Pony Express Ride has been mapped out, coming in to the arena from the east and a portion will be on pavement. She will pass on information as she receives it. Katie has plans to become NARHA certified and will be available for judging at horse shows etc.

The Jr Rodeo Final dates are August 15th & 16th at our arena.

Charlie has a conflict with the Trail Ride Sunday March 8th and would like to reschedule for the 15th at 1:30pm.

A vote was made to let Donna Justin have an NBHA Barrel race on May 3rd.  We will charge her $50.00 for use of the arena and $25.00 for a tractor and fuel we work the arena for them.

We discussed having and EKHA Show this year. Cynthia had received communication from Tammy Barnes who said they’d like one and would help. Donna Justin has said she will help again as long as it doesn’t conflict with her schedule for NBHA. Cynthia will get in touch with Susan Melhus and see if she will help again.
