January 2016 Meeting Notes

The meeting was called to order by President Ritchie Farrell at 7:00 pm. The minutes were read and approved. The Treasurer Brenda Lagasse reported the checking and savings. The Board of Directors have yet to meet, but will at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 13th at 1427 E 6th St..

Committee Reports:

Rodeo Committee
The dates for 2016 Rodeo are Wednesday, July 27th and Thursday, July 28th. The committee reviewed the clowns that Greg Lehmann researched and decided on Backflip Johnny Dudley. Eric Voss made a motion to accept the Rodeo Committee’s suggestion of Backflip Johnny Dudley. Brenda Lagasse seconded the motion and the motion passed.

Old Business:

Aggie Moore will talk to Nancy Zenger-Beneda about finding someone to talk about equine nutrition at the meeting.

New Business:

Our insurance needs to be paid for the year. Brenda Lagasse made a motion to keep National Horseman’s Insurance and pay for the year. Aggie Moore seconded the motion and the motion passed.

EKHA membership is $25.

Brenda Lagasse made a motion to pay Urban Charboneau $100 for rototilling the covered arena. Donna Barleen seconded the motion and the motion passed.

Aggie Moore has three tubs of old Saddle Club stuff in her basement that need a new home. It was decided that the tubs could be put in the south Concession Stand.

Drill Team:

Lana Stolzenburg felt that the Drill Team was not handled well in last year’s January meeting. Lana wants her drill team, American Freedom Riders, to ride one night of the rodeo. Ritchie asked for a show of hands of who was for one drill team and who was for two drill teams. One drill team won with majority of hands. The Drill Team Committee chair will be decided at the Board of Directors meeting.

Eric made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Terry Greer seconded and the meeting was adjourned.
