August 2020 Meeting Notes

The meeting was called to order by President Ritchie Ferrell.

Treasurer’s Report:

Brenda L provided a hand out. Brenda mentioned there are a lot of products in the concession stand. Chips, water, pop, hot dogs, and hamburgers. Ritchie F suggested we sell some at Friday Night Lights.

New business:

August 29th at 7:30 a.m. an equine dentist will be here. Donna B was not sure how much the dentist was going to charge per horse.

Brenda L moved to have the monthly meeting at the same time, in the same place all year round beginning at 7:30 p.m. and for the meeting to be held in the old chamber office. Seconded by Jamie W. Motion Passed.

We still had extra paint to redo the bleachers. There were also new boards to replace bad boards on the grandstand.

The saddle club received a $250 check from the legion for the beer garden during the rodeo. A motion was made by Brenda L to return the money back to the beer garden. Seconded by Eric V.

Old Business:

It was discussed to take turns with the fair board to empty the manure spreader.

Ritchie F asked if the fair board moves back the fair, does the saddle club want to keep the rodeo early like this year. No decision was made then.

It was mentioned that the air conditioner was in the crows nest and needed to be taken out because the window is open and rain is getting in.

The fair board felt that the saddle club should pay for Ron & Don’s trash services since they took care of the trash mainly for the rodeo.

The adult buckle series will take place after the youth buckle series.
