October 2015 Meeting Notes

The meeting was called to order by President Aggie Moore at 8:01 pm. The minutes were read and approved. Treasurer Brenda Lagasse reported the checking and savings.

The Board of Directors met and have an extensive list of projects that need completed.

Project List:
  • Concrete calf chute
  • Pull dirt back into the arena
  • Move the sink from the old 4-H Concession Stand
  • Purchase 2 little white folding tables and shelves for the Concession Stand
  • Find a “new” refrigerator for the Concession Stand (old one won’t stay closed)
  • Place flashing or something on outside of Concession Stand
  • More north bleachers
  • Winterize Concession Stand (drain tank, blow out hose, etc.)
  • Replace boards on the south bleacher’s walkway
  • Paint overheads and gates
  • Fix Crow’s Nest leaking
  • Rubber mats in Concession Stand
  • Replace bleacher tires
  • Bids for arena lights
  • Air Conditioners
  • Stripping chute for saddle steers
  • East gate swing farther
  • Cowboy latch for the return alley
  • Cracked Concession Stand window
  • Shutters for Concession Stand
  • Set the Flag Pole

Ritchie Farrell has a 15″ tire that could be used for the bleacher tires.
Lance Lagasse will get a cost for the crow’s nest catwalk.
Lance Lagasse made a motion to spend $500 for cabinets, shelves, etc. for the concession stand. Terry Greer volunteered to put them up. The motion was seconded by Donna Barleen and the motion passed.

Activities Committee
Cowboy Dressage is on Saturday, October 10th
Youth Buckle Series is on Sunday, October 11th
Trail Ride at Kanopolis State Park is on Sunday, October 11th
Equine Dentist is on Saturday, October 17th
Youth Buckle Series is on Sunday, October 25th
Halloween Fun Day is on Saturday, October 31st with cash prizes for the costume contest of 1st-$20, 2nd-$15, and 3rd-$10
Monthly Meeting on Tuesday, November 3rd
Trail Ride is on Sunday, November 8th at the Republican River on 100th Rd
Youth Buckle Series is on Sunday, November 8th. This is the final day.

Youth Buckle Series
Daniel Robison sent the scores to Eric Voss and Jordan Libel for their input. He hadn’t heard back.

Annual Party
The Annual Party will be Sunday December 6th at 6:00 pm (with 5:00 pm social hour) at Kristi’s Family Restaurant. Liz Parde will make the centerpieces for under $5 a centerpiece.

Aggie brought up contacting someone to come and speak about winter equine nutrition at the November meeting.

Donna Barleen moved to adjourn the meeting and Brenda Lagasse seconded and the meeting adjourned at 9:00 pm.
