March 2015 Meeting Notes

President Aggie Moore called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm. The minutes were read and approved. The treasurer reported the checking and savings. EKHA, KHC, and insurance bills were presented.
Board of Directors will meet at 6:30 pm before April’s meeting at the arena.
The Queen Committee met after February’s meeting. There are four girls running for rodeo queen. On Saturday, June 6th the ticket sales for the rodeo will begin. The Queen Committee will meet again after the April meeting. Aggie proposed to purchase t-shirts for the contestants to wear while they sold tickets. The t-shirts are about $9.00 each. Jordan Libel made a motion to buy neon pink Saddle Club t-shirts. Brenda Lagasse seconded and the motion passed.
Activities Committee:
Vet/Farrier Day is on Saturday, March 28th at Tallgrass Vet Hospital. Andy Asch and Rick Schultz are the farriers.
Cowboy Dressage Association is having a demo/play day at the arena on Saturday, March 28th.
Sunday, March 8th is the monthly Trail Ride at the Missile Silos at 1:30 pm.
Kids Buckle Series Committee will meet sometime.
Saturday, March 14th is the Optimist Club Sale. The arena will not be available the week before.
Rodeo Committee:
The committee met and decided on Rocket Ryan for the new entertainer at the rodeo. It was suggested to book the act for next year’s rodeo. Eric Voss made a motion to bring information on acts for next year. Donna Barleen seconded the motion and the motion passed.
Drill Team:
The Drill Team met two weeks ago for a walk through the pattern. Shirts were discussed to have the riders purchase their shirts rather than the Club. Equipment has been returned and the Drill Team are wanting to keep the sport boots, saddle pads, and flags. The Drill Team is wanting to sell old equipment to the American Freedom Riders. Eric made a motion to put the equipment on the agenda for next month and a payment plan for the American Freedom Riders. Ritchie Farrell seconded the motion and the motion passed.
Promotional Committee:
It was discussed to update the Facebook group terms to allow Club business posts for meetings and members of the Facebook group will all be invited to events. An idea was proposed to send postcards to former members to rejoin the Club.
Unfinished Business
Concrete tanks will be discussed at the Board of Directors meeting on April 7th at 6:30 pm at the arena.
Last year’s Drill Team expenses report was turned in.
Reining Clinic on Saturday, May 16th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm is $100.00 per rider and $5.00 to audit. Fees are due May 1st. Donna made a motion to provide a room at Super 8 and meal out of Club funds. Earl Hale seconded and the motion passed.
Guest Speaker: Greg Askren about Horse Hauling
Coggins and health papers are required to cross state lines. Coggins is good for a year and health papers are good for 30 days. Register the trailer and make sure lights are working. Two safety chains one on each side attached to the truck and of sufficient weight for the trailer. *47 is the states version of 911, but better.
Donna made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Brittany Moore seconded and the meeting passed.
