February 2017 Meeting Notes

The meeting was called to order by President Ritchie Farrell. The minutes were read and approved. Treasurer Brenda Lagasse reported the checking and savings.

Brenda informed the club that the Rodeo contract will be $8,000 for this year’s rodeo. Aggie Moore made a motion to accept the contract for $8,000 with the same added money as last year. Terry Greer seconded the motion and the motion passed. Brenda also received the total for insurance this year. Donna Barleen made a motion to pay the insurance for $820. Brenda seconded it and the motion passed.

Brenda and Lance Lagasse found a clown for our Rodeo. Donna Barleen made a motion to hire him to be our Rodeo clown. Terry Greer seconded the motion and the motion passed.

There was discussion to have Jake Weaver to host a clinic in mid-June about either horsemanship or showmanship.

Jamie Gross will come a speak before March’s meeting.

Tammy Forshee knows about a grant for $350. She needs to know what project we would use the money for by April.

The KJRA will tentatively be August 12 & 13. We will need gate money collectors and people to run a concession stand.

Aggie asked if the 4-H could use some of our panels during the fair. It was also discussed allowing the race track people to park in the South parking lot (not the warm-up arena) and clean up after themselves.

Lost the 4-H for the High School Rodeo, asked Booster Club so far no commitment for the concession stand.
