August 2015 Meeting Notes

The meeting was called to order by Vice-President Charles Hansen. July’s meeting minutes were read and approved. Treasurer Brenda Lagasse read the checking and savings. She also had a preliminary report from the Rodeo.

Rodeo:
It was discussed about Ranch Bronc Riding and to see if our stock contractor would be willing to add it to our rodeo.

Old Business:
High School Rodeo, we need timers and gate help (Friday afternoon, Saturday morning, and Sunday morning). 4-H is running the concession stand and FFA is putting up and taking down the stalls and working both arenas.

Roping on the 16th of August, is will begin at 9:30 am and end around 6:00 to 7:00 pm. There will be a barrel race in the warm up arena starting around 10:00 am. Drill Team will run a concession stand. It was decided to pay some kids to work the arena.

New Business:
Trail Ride on Sunday, August 9th at Kanopolis at 1:30 pm. Sandy will be the trail boss.

The Kids Buckle Series currently does not have a start date. The committee will need to meet on this.

There will be a Fun Day on Saturday, October 31st.

Donna Barleen and Priscilla Lindsey will be having a equine dentist out at their farms to float teeth. He does a manual float and charges $40/horse. He also has a website, www.myhorsesteeth.com.

Work Night on Thursday, August 13th at 7:00 pm. Please bring mowers and weed eaters.

Earl Hale brought up the picnic tables used during the Rodeo. They are for sale at a reduced price of $600/each plus tax. They are eight foot long and ADA compliant, plus they weight 700 lbs. Brenda Lagasse made a motion to purchase the picnic tables for $600 plus tax each. Terry Greer seconded the motion and the motion passed.

Shade trees were discussed and the topic was tabled.

Sandy Kennedy is going to a parade in Ellsworth on Saturday, August 15th at 10:00 am. She invited Club member to ride with her.
